What's New for 2008

The Disc: We will be using a 3' disc at home in place of the strike zone. The disc is placed directly over home plate and is treated as home throughout the play of the game.

Pitchers: A legally delivered pitch must have an arc with a minimum of 6' from the ground and no greater than 12', and must hit any part of the disc.

Batters: The batter may step on or over the disc to hit a ball. The batter may NOT cross the white line in front of home plate and should treat it as the front line of a traditional batter's box.

NOTE: A pitch delivered too high or too low will be vocalized as "ILLEGAL" by the umpire. The batter may choose to swing and play resumes.

Co-Ed Walks: All walks to a male player will result in 2 bases. Women following a walked man must bat unless there are 2 outs and then she has a choice take first base or bat.

Co-Ed Tags: All plays at home plate must be treated as a force. Any runner that passes the commit line (between third and home) must be treated as a force. No tags allowed between the commit line and home.

Post Season Play: In an effort to keep costs affordable (field usage and utility fees have increased) and to help keep our scheduling fluid there will be no Post Season Playoffs for spring season. Our primary season (Summer) will have Post Season games scheduled. (weather permitting of course.)

**These changes are for the 2008 season only. Prior to the 2009 season we will take a vote to determine if we continue with the changes or return to our traditional strike zone.
